Can I administer the advanced features of Win2K remotely, such as administering my own IIS and FTP settings?
You can remotely administer much of your IIS FTP and website configuration using the Microsoft IIS 5.0 Internet Service Manager (ISM). To our knowledge, we are the ONLY hosting company to allow customers access the ISM.The ISM allows you to perform many of the management functions that the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) provides. Among the many tasks you can perform are:
- Set IIS directory permissions
- Set ASP application and debugging, script engine and file caching options
- Specify default documents and document footers
- Manage anonymous access and authentication control
- Manage IP address/domain name restrictions and secure communications
- Configure content expiration, custom headers, MIME types, and content ratings
- Specify custom error pages for 404 or any other error
- Specify FTP welcome and exit messages, and FTP connection parameters
- Select web and FTP logging options
In addition to making the ISM available, we are developing a customer control panel to provide additional administrative functions for your advanced hosting account.
